The Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA for short) sets the VESA mounting interface standard in TV design. It makes sure that many brands are consistent in some design elements.

To know which TV mounting screws fit your TV, you need to be thoroughly familiar with the VESA standards that Vizio has applied to your particular TV model. They vary depending on the size or weight of the TV. On average, it looks like this:

• If you have a TV with a screen smaller than 19 inches, your VESA template is 75 x 75. You will need M4 size screws, which will be placed on the back of the TV.
• If your screen is larger than nineteen inches but smaller than twenty-two, the holes will be 100 x 100. Here we will also need an M4 screw size that will be attached to the back of the screen.
• If the screen size is between twenty-three and twenty-nine inches, the hole pattern will change slightly. It will be 100 x 200. We will also need an M4 screw size.
• If you have a TV with a screen size of thirty to forty inches, then your pattern is 200 x 200. This is where you’ll need bigger bolts, specifically M6 VESA screws.
• Well and if your TV has an even larger screen, your choice will be M8 size bolts, this is the maximum size.

Why do I need to get the correct screw sizes?

How do I Mount a Vizio TV to a TV Stand

When choosing a mounting option, it is worth considering the one that involves hanging the TV on the wall in order to secure the gadget.

There are also disadvantages. First, you will have to install a more or less sizable screen together. A weight of 30 pounds or more is difficult to hold in one hand.

When choosing where to place the TV on the wall, you should take into account that it must be well ventilated to work properly. Therefore installation in a niche is very undesirable, although it is the latest trend in design – to make a niche of plasterboard, and in it hang a TV.

In an extreme case, this way of installation is acceptable, but the dimensions of the niche should be much larger than the TV – so that the air can more or less circulate and cool the back surface.

But even in this case, the TV can quickly fail – overheating has a bad effect on performance.

Choosing wall mount

To hang your TV on the wall, you need to choose a wall mount. First of all, look at the back cover of the unit. There should be four holes for mounting plates. You need to measure the distances between them and then go by them when choosing a mounting bracket.

There are mounts in which all four mounts are fixed, there are more universal ones in which the horizontal distance varies.

Installation procedure

Once you have chosen a mounting location for the TV and the wall bracket, mark the mounting location on the wall. Before further work, check that there are no communications in the wall – no wiring, pipes, etc. You can do this with a wire detector.

If all is normal and no wires were found, you can put a plate of bracket to the wall and make a mark for screw holes. At the same time make sure that the marks were strictly horizontal. The slightest imbalance can cause the screen to fall.

Now we proceed to fixing the mating plate. A mating plate is installed on the back of the TV. It is attached to the holes on the back panel. These are usually fitted with a fastener, unscrew it, and use it for mounting. If there are no fasteners, we choose them according to the size of the holes.
